G'day from Australia!

Africanaussie Goes Green

G’day, is what we say to fellow walkers as we walk on our favorite beach every afternoon. I am lucky to live in tropical North Queensland Australia, beautiful one day – perfect the next. I was born in South Africa (hence the name Africanaussie) – a child of the land – as the African saying goes. Both countries are in my heart. In between living in these two countries I traveled the world on a sailboat, so the whole world is in my heart. Lately, with the drought, and then the fires in Australia I have just felt that I need to do something, anything to make this world a better place. I don’t want to hold placards, I don’t want to play the blame game, I want step by step, to do my little bit. I want to share what I am doing, in case I inspire someone else to also do their little bit, and as we each do our own little bit, it will become a bigger bit, and maybe we can save this wonderful world we love from the downward spiral we seem to be on.

What fulfills me:
  • Gardening and composting
  • Clean eating and menu planning
  • Re-use, re-purpose and minimising
  • Prioritizing contentment
